Didi

Didi is the kindest dog I've ever met. She is friendly, lovely, calm, playful, and easygoing. However, she has no self-awareness; she is a baby without a clue. She needs training, but first, she needs lots of love and attention.

She listens very well and learns very fast. In one week, she learned to eat her food on time, pee and poo on proper walking times, where to sleep and wait. She learned to sit down and wait. Of course, these things take time and routine. But she is brilliant.

On the other hand, she didn't have a proper home and routine, so she doesn't know the rules or limits yet. She tries her luck sleeping on our bed or wanting to eat human food. She occupies our other dog's bed and wants all the attention to herself. She doesn't understand 'no' properly, but over time, she will!

She was found in the street in Didim, a summer town in Turkey. When she was found, she was sick, and they were going to put her to sleep. We rescued her and brought her here to Antwerp, Belgium, intending to find her forever family. Since the beginning, we are her foster family, we never intended to keep her.

About her health: When found, she was in a bad state, with an internal parasite and a heartworm. She has recovered and is doing very well. The parasites are dead, and the heartworm is passive and dead. The vet requires a monthly 'internal parasite pill' and monthly vaccination. According to our calculations, only three vaccinations are left, and all will end in February. These pills and vaccinations are not expensive and not complicated. In February, she needs a checkup, especially the heart, to ensure the worm is gone.

This parasite is spread through mosquitos, and the vet said this mosquito species does not exist in Belgium, so it is impossible to spread to another animal or human. Currently, Didi lives with our dog in our home, and there is no problem. If the other dogs or animals are already protected (internal parasite pill or sores to leash) , it's perfect. If not, it is still okay since it can not spread without mosquitoes. The parasite is already dead in didi, anyway.

Long story short, Didi is the easiest, cutest dog I've seen! And she is looking for a loving new family. She is so easy and lovely that you won't believe it :) She wants lots of love and attention. Ideally, we would like someone or a family with the patience to have a babyish dog with lots of love to share!! And a family who is not afraid of this easy healing process, and is willing to continue healing her (:
