May

May was found as a puppy together with her siblings but without her mother at a village in Ankara, capital of Turkey. Unfortunately, only 3 siblings survived first couple of months without their mother and we named them April, May and June. While April is adopted in Belgium and June in the Netherlands, it is now turn for May to find her forever home.

May is an adorable and goofy dog. She loves to be outside and take long relaxing walks. While at home she is pretty laid back and well behaved.

She is a bit shy when it comes to meeting new people or dogs. Nevertheless she simply needs a slow introduction and she just becomes a super sweet and playful dog requesting pets. She has not a single thread of aggressiveness in her. She is rather a submissive dog.

She is very good with other dogs and can go along with all of them. She lived all her life surrounded by different dogs big and small, male and female, dominant and submissive. She has good communication with other dogs.

Her shyness can translate into a bit timidness when she first moves into a new home and may lead to potty accidents as she may not be comfortable going potty outside first couple of days. She is otherwise potty trained.

She walks perfectly on the leash and when off leash she instinctively checks in with her handler and never wanders off far.

She is not exposed to cats but anatolian shepherds generally have a protective instinct towards smaller animals within their household. Most of our dogs are anatolian shepherd mixes and our experience is that they get along well with cats overall.

May has been diagnosed with hip dysplasia and was operated back in Turkey. She also received 3 months of physical therapy afterwards. Veterinarians told us that she is no longer in pain and she can resume her normal activities without any need for extra medication etc. Still it would be best to avoid strenous activities on a regular basis.

May is such an easy going dog that she will be a good fit as a second dog or for first time dog owners. She will be happy with long nature walks and being a couch potato at home.
