Hansel

Hansel and his sister Gretel are ready to find their forever home after a rough start in life. Born in Bulgaria to an outdoor cat, they got rescued and placed in a shelter for 4 months where they had limited opportunities to play as they shared a small cage. Since November 2024 they are in a foster home in the Netherlands and have blossomed to playful, cuddly kittens who explore the world around them with curiosity and enjoy human company.

Hansel is the mostly lovely lap cat you’ll ever meet! He just purrs and loves being petted while on your lap. He likes attention and to be cuddled. He is quite social and a bit of a talker – he tells you what he thinks and wants, and gives the most cute cat kisses whenever he says thank you at meal time, or just before his nap if he wants to lie on your lap. He has some angora genes and proudly shows off his fluffy tail. He likes to be picked up and carried around, but can be independent.

As a true gentleman, Hansel has impeccable manners as it comes to his toilet or food. And he has a healthy appetite, eating variety of foods, both wet and dry, and he loves treats. He has the energy of a growing kitten so loves to play with toys and to chase his sister, or to play with his sister and his human parent. He shows no interest in going outdoors but loves on be on the window to observe the outside world, so a cat-proof balcony or terrace, or a secure small garden will be fine.

Hansel plays well with young children and can be perfect for a family that has a kid with special needs. Also, he is friendly to other cats (not only to his sister).

Together with Gretel, they make a strikingly beautiful couple with their combination of a fluffy black fur and a sleek black silhouette, just as their complementary personalities are a bit outgoing and a bit introverted.

Hansel is vaccinated, neutered, chipped and has an international passport.
