Omschrijving
Anna’s journey is one of both heartbreak and hope. She was rescued in Turkey while pregnant and lovingly raised her puppies—each one finding a home of their own. But like so many mother dogs, Anna was left behind.
Earlier this year, she was adopted in the Netherlands, and for a brief moment, we believed her story had a happy ending. Sadly, that adoption didn’t work out, and Anna has returned to foster care. Our hearts are heavy, but our resolve is stronger than ever: this time, we’re committed to finding her the true forever home she deserves—a place where she’ll never be left behind again.
Anna is spayed, potty trained, and comfortable being left alone. She’s affectionate, cuddly, and thrives on human connection. At home, she’s calm and snuggly, happiest when curled up close to her human. She’s food motivated and responds beautifully to gentle guidance, making her a joy to work with.
She does have a small abdominal hernia that doesn’t require treatment and mild patella luxation in one hind leg, which may need attention down the line.
In her previous home in the Netherlands, Anna showed some behaviors we hadn’t seen before (back in Turkey and in her foster home when she first arrived in the Netherlands): barking at other dogs from a distance on walks, reacting to loud noises, and jumping up on passersby. These signs of stress have responded well to treats, redirection, and calm, consistent leadership. With the right support, her progress is swift and encouraging.
What Anna needs now is a stable, loving environment where she can feel truly at home. We’re looking for adopters with previous dog experience who understand the needs of rescue dogs and can offer structure, patience, and warmth. Anna should be the only dog for now, and we’re seeking a home without children under 12. Her ideal family will be financially stable and open to professional support if needed—because Anna is worth that investment.
Currently fostered in Amsterdam, Anna is available for adoption throughout the Netherlands. If you’re searching for a devoted companion, Anna might be the perfect match for you.

Toelichting
Anna travelled to the Netherlands after 4 months of procedures. Her vaccinations are done and she has a valid passport and travel titration test. We ask for an adoption contribution of 500 euros to help us continue the work in rescueing and rehabilitating more dogs and cats in Turkey although the actual costs of procedures to rehome dogs from Turkey are higher. Stichting Verhuisdieren is aware of these higher adoption costs and has given permission due to high costs for Turkish animals.
Be her hero, contact us (e-mail/whatsapp) if you're interested to adopt Anna🙂
