Pati

Meet Pati – our big-hearted boy with the softest soul. His name means “paw” in Turkish, which couldn’t be more fitting, since offering his paw is his favorite way of showing love.

Outdoors, Pati loves his walks and especially playing fetch—his prey drive makes him an enthusiastic retriever of balls, and it’s his favorite game. He is polite with other dogs, whether big or small, and enjoys calm interactions. Quick movements, bikes, or people rushing past can sometimes trigger his instinct to “catch,” which is part of that same prey drive. With guidance and structure, he is learning to channel this energy in the right ways.

Indoors, Pati is affectionate, calm, and wonderfully loyal once he bonds with you. He is quiet, content to nap nearby, and can be left alone for a few hours without stress.

Pati has also recently worked with a trainer, who observed that his main challenge is confidence. Sudden noises or unfamiliar situations can startle him, and this is why he may snap if he feels pressured, such as when someone leans over him. With consistent guidance and reassurance, his confidence can continue to grow, and our trainer—who already knows him—is available to support his future family in this journey.

Because of these needs, Pati will do best with experienced adopters who are confident in reading dog body language and open to continuing his training. He is not suited for a home with young children, but with the right person he will be an endlessly affectionate companion, offering loyalty, tenderness, and his signature paw-shakes.
