🐶 Meet Boris – Your Loyal Shadow with a Gentle Soul

Boris is the kind of dog who doesn’t do things halfway. When he bonds, he bonds with his whole heart. Calm, observant, and quietly affectionate, he’s happiest when he can simply be near his person — stretched out at your feet, leaning into your leg, or patiently waiting for his next belly rub (which he will never refuse).

🌨️ His Story
Boris’ journey began under harsh circumstances in Ankara. As a tiny puppy, he was found alone in a metro station during a snowstorm near a university campus — cold, soaked, and surrounded by much larger street dogs. He had no real chance of survival.

One compassionate volunteer stepped in, and that single act changed everything. After receiving his vaccinations, Boris grew up safely in a sanctuary, where he spent several formative years before finally making the long journey to the Netherlands in 2025 in search of something he’s never truly had before: a real home of his own.

🏡 At Home

Boris is a dream housemate:
• Fully potty trained
• No destructive or chewing behaviors
• Can stay home alone without any issues
• Alert but balanced — he’ll let you know if someone approaches the garden gate or rings the bell, but he’s not a constant barker
• Calm, chill, and peaceful with his people
• Loves closeness: cuddling, lying at your feet, or simply being in the same room

With guests, Boris prefers gentle respect. He’s not the “hug every stranger” type — instead, he likes to observe quietly from his safe spot until he decides you’re interesting. Introverts, this is your dog.

🌳 Outdoors

Outside, Boris blossoms:
• Confident, happy, and easy-going
• Loves long walks and is very good both on- and off-leash
• Very social with other dogs
• Prefers female dogs
• Can feel intimidated by large male dogs, but with proper introductions he does just fine

He’s generally more comfortable with strangers outdoors than indoors and tends to feel safest around women or men accompanied by women. Tall young men approaching alone can make him hesitant at first — patience and calm energy go a long way with Boris.
