Omschrijving
Foster Home Needed for Hagrid – Available from May
Hagrid is looking for a loving foster home from May onwards, where he can travel to the Netherlands and begin his journey toward finding his forever family.
Hagrid was found abandoned at a construction site in the middle of winter, just 2–3 months old, alone and vulnerable. Without his mother or siblings, his chances of survival were slim. Thankfully, he was rescued and brought to a dog sanctuary. Shortly after, Hagrid was diagnosed with parvovirus, a life-threatening illness for puppies. Thanks to quick intervention and intensive veterinary care, he made a full and remarkable recovery, all while maintaining his cheerful, resilient puppy spirit.
Currently, Hagrid remains in quarantine while completing his vaccination schedule, which means he cannot yet join the other dogs at the sanctuary. As a result, he is understandably bored and very much in his playful “baby shark” phase—curious, mouthy, and full of puppy enthusiasm. He especially enjoys human company and affection.
Hagrid received his rabies vaccination shortly after rescue, and all travel procedures will be completed by May, allowing him to fly to the Netherlands at that time.
As with any young puppy, it is difficult to predict his final size, but he is expected to grow into a large-breed dog (though not a giant). He adores people and is expected to do well with other dogs once introductions begin. Due to his early circumstances, he will have had limited exposure to busy or urban environments, making patient and positive socialization especially important for his foster family.
By the time of travel (around 8 months old), Hagrid is expected to be mostly potty trained, and groundwork will have begun on leash walking and basic routines to help ease his transition into a home environment.
By offering Hagrid a foster home, you’ll be giving him the opportunity to experience life as a puppy—learning, growing, and gaining confidence. With the right support, Hagrid is expected to adapt quickly and stand an excellent chance of finding his forever home.
