Omschrijving

Meet Zeytin 🌿 – A Gentle Soul Finding Her Confidence

Zeytin was rescued as a puppy from a dangerous area in Ankara and brought to safety at a young age. After growing up in a quiet shelter environment, she arrived in the Netherlands over three months ago. Since then, she has made steady and visible progress.

She is naturally sensitive, but no longer the unsure puppy she once was. With the right environment and guidance, she continues to grow more comfortable in her daily life.

Personality & Behavior

Zeytin is gentle, observant, and emotionally intelligent. She does not instantly trust new people, but with calm and patient interaction, she warms up within a few days. Once she feels safe, she forms strong bonds and becomes affectionate and connected.

She is now playful and socially engaged. She enjoys chase games with other dogs and has recently started playing more with her foster sibling Bond. She now also initiates play herself when she feels comfortable. While she used to wait for others to start, she is becoming more confident in inviting others into fun.

She also enjoys interacting with cats and can play gently with them.

At home, Zeytin is balanced and peaceful. She does not bark unnecessarily and is not destructive. She enjoys cuddling on the sofa and likes being close to her humans. She also surprisingly enjoys watching TV.

City Life & Environment

Zeytin has adapted well to normal city life. Daily traffic sounds and urban noise are no longer an issue. However, in very crowded or intense environments, she may still briefly freeze or become cautious—especially if someone approaches from behind. These moments are becoming less frequent, but she remains a naturally sensitive dog.

We consulted a professional trainer about her cautious nature. The feedback was reassuring: given her young age, continued positive exposure and stable routines are expected to support further development. At the same time, she may always remain slightly sensitive in very busy environments—and that is simply part of her character.

For this reason, she would thrive in a quieter neighborhood or a home with easy access to nature walks. A garden would be a wonderful bonus but is not essential.

House Training & Daily Routine

Zeytin’s toilet training is almost fully established. She consistently goes outside and only has very rare small accidents if her walk is significantly delayed. These are becoming less frequent.

She can stay alone for 4–5 hours calmly, usually resting or playing with her toys. She does not show separation anxiety.

She walks beautifully on leash and does not pull. Recall training is still in progress. She has experienced short off-leash moments in safe environments and tends to stay close, but she is not fully off-leash trained yet.

Social Behavior

🐾 Very good with other dogs (big or small)
🐾 Enjoys chase games and now initiates play
🐾 Good with cats and enjoys playful interactions
🐾 Builds strong bonds with her humans
🐾 May get slightly startled in very busy environments
🐾 Not aggressive – communicates boundaries calmly

What Kind of Home Does Zeytin Need?

Zeytin would do best in a calm, patient, and stable home. She benefits from routine and gentle guidance. A quieter area with access to nature would suit her well. Preferably no very small children, as sudden movements and noise can still startle her.

Zeytin may always remain a slightly cautious dog in intense environments—and that is simply part of who she is. But with the right family, she is affectionate, playful, loyal, and deeply connected.

If you’re looking for a thoughtful, gentle companion who enjoys both outdoor walks and sofa evenings, Zeytin could be your perfect match. 💛🐾
