Omschrijving
Kızım is looking for a foster home — her bridge to the forever family she has been waiting so patiently for.
She was found on the streets of Ankara, allegedly dumped back outside after being neutered. When volunteers first saw her, she was only skin and bones, too weak to even walk properly. (If you scroll to the end of her album, you’ll see those first heartbreaking photos.)
The volunteers who crossed her path that day changed her life. They took her under their wings, nourished her, treated her, and slowly brought her back to health.
Since then, Kızım has been living in a dog sanctuary. She is now 6 years old — found at around 2, which means she has spent four long years waiting behind gates. Waiting for her turn.
And she is more than ready.
Kızım is wonderful with people. After a short introduction, she will gently lean in and reward you with soft kisses — especially if you come prepared with treats. She is also great with other dogs, having lived peacefully with many companions for years.
She is fully potty trained, not a chewer, and not a barker. At home, she is calm and balanced.
Because she hasn’t been regularly walked on a leash for several years (she was let out into a garden daily instead), the outside world initially felt overwhelming — cars, movement, noises. She was alert and confused at first, but she adjusted quickly. She does not pull on the leash and learns fast. She simply needs patience and reassurance as she re-acclimates to busy environments.
Kızım is sensitive to loud noises like thunder and can be hesitant around passing cars. A quiet neighborhood would be ideal for her. She will thrive in a calm home with structured walks, gentle encouragement, and cozy cuddle time.
Like many dogs rescued in an emaciated state, once she was safe and food became regular, she gained weight. She is currently overweight and will benefit from a healthy diet and steady exercise — something that can easily become part of a bonding routine with her foster.
What she truly needs now is a soft place to land. A home environment where she can rediscover the world step by step. After surviving abandonment, starvation, and years in a sanctuary, she deserves to finally experience living inside a family.
She has not been tested with cats.
Kızım has already fought her hardest battles. Now she just needs someone to show her that the world can be gentle.
Could you be the one to open your door — and your heart — to her? 🤍
