Nicole

Meet Nicole - a sweet, cuddly beauty who loves attention and will gladly show her tummy for belly rubs. As a young lady, she is energetic and loves to play by herself and with any game you can think of. She is social with people and other pets, both cats and dogs.

Nicole is currently living in a temporary home in The Hague and we are looking for a foster home until she finds a forever home. Fostering to adoption is also possible. We ask for some additional support besides daily home care so please read her story below.

Nicole was born and lived as a house cat in a small town in northern Bulgaria. A year ago, she was in a car accident which damaged her pelvic area. She was abandoned after the injury, and our volunteers found her hardly alive. Nicole proved to be a real fighter and spent months in a specialized vet clinic. The vets call her "the little miracle" as she recovered and kept her sweet personality despite the multiple procedures.

As a result of the injury, Nicole cannot lift her tail, only move it from side to side but it does cause mobility or balance issues - she walks and runs normally, and can easily jump to reach a table top.
The other impact of the injury is temporary damage to the nerves in the pelvic area, causing sometimes light incontinence, which means a few drops of urine when she is relaxed, mostly on her blanket during sleep. We share it for awareness that it's part of her recovery, not a behavior issue, as Nicole uses her litter box regularly without any accidents.

In order to finalize her recovery, Nicole will undergo a test in the Netherlands as there are no vet neurologists for her condition in Bulgaria. All medical expenses will be covered by the foundation, and we will ask for assistance from the foster home to take her to the appointment for the test and a follow up with the vet.

Nicole is neutered, has a chip, an international passport and all required vaccinations. Her medical records are available and will accompany her.

We are open to discuss the arrangements for her fostering (in addition to the medical expenses) and to provide support if needed. We also ask for a foster parent or family who will be able to stay in regular contact with us so we can collaboratively help Nicole to get the treatment and find her forever home.
