# Meet Hero 🐾 – A Loyal Companion Looking for His Own Family

Hero is a 3-year-old neutered male who has already shown just how loyal and brave he can be. During a municipal dog roundup in Ankara, Hero stepped in to protect his sister, allowing her to escape while he was taken to the shelter.

Shortly afterwards, he was rescued from the shelter and moved to a boarding facility, where he spent approximately a year waiting for his chance. Around two months ago, Hero arrived in the Netherlands and is currently living in a foster home, where he has adapted remarkably well to family life.

## Personality & Behavior

Hero is an incredibly affectionate, people-oriented dog. He loves being close to his humans and is happiest when he can follow you around, lean against you, or simply relax nearby.

Despite spending such a long time in boarding, he settled into home life quickly. He is calm indoors, fully house-trained, and does not bark excessively, chew furniture, or display destructive behaviors.

One of the sweetest things about Hero is that he is still discovering how to be a carefree dog. Having spent much of his life without a real home, he is only now learning how to play—and every day he becomes a little more playful and expressive.

If another dog becomes overly pushy or repeatedly ignores his boundaries, Hero will usually choose to disengage and return to his handler rather than escalate the situation. He is a confident dog who knows how to communicate appropriately without becoming reactive.

## Home Life & Routine

Hero is fully house-trained and easy to live with.

When left alone, he may vocalize briefly at first, but settles down quickly afterwards. Because he enjoys human company so much, we would prefer a home where he is not left alone for very long periods on a regular basis.

Most of the day, Hero is happy to relax, nap, and enjoy being part of everyday family life.
