Lima

Lima is looking for a foster home to give her a chance to search for her forever home!

Lima was born last year in Urla, İzmir in a village to an Anatolian Shepherd looking mother and a father that looks like her (wired coated terrier mix (?) big breed).

Together with her brother Rio they have made a closely knit family of four, living among other village animals such as stray cats and sheep.

Unfortunately, bad people are everywhere, there have been several incidents where they slightly escaped cars or aggressive dogs specifically introduced to the area to force them out and such.

While the mother and father dogs are experienced and skittish of people the puppies grew up to be super friendly with people which put them under more danger.

Recently transported to Ankara, Turkey, the puppies are diagnosed with Erlichia, a tick borne disease (not contagious to dogs, other animals or people), treatable with antibiotics. Lima completed her antibiotics treatment and her new tests came back negative 🥳

Although they have entered a building for the very first time in the dog sanctuary they are currently staying, they adjusted super good. They have already mastered stairs, staying in a kennel and potty training.

Both are super food driven and as such very trainable.

Lima unfortunately is afraid of being leashed up and resists walking on the leash although she shows so much excitement to go out. This is a work in progress, we have only tried with a slip leash and we are planning to try again with a no-escape harness to make her feel more at ease on the leash.
