Patates

Patates is a sweet and gentle girl who was rescued from a shelter in Turkey where the conditions were extremely difficult. She was rescued together with another dog, and while her friend soon found a wonderful home in the Netherlands, Patates had to wait much longer for her chance.

We don’t know everything she experienced before she was rescued, but we do know that life wasn’t always kind to her. Because of her past, Patates can be shy and cautious, especially in unfamiliar situations or around things she doesn’t yet understand.

This can also show during walks. When she is somewhere new or encounters an unfamiliar environment, she may initially feel a little unsure and need some time to take everything in. She does best when she is allowed to explore at her own pace, with someone calm and reassuring by her side.

She is not a dog who immediately walks into a new place and acts as if she has always belonged there. She needs a little time to observe, understand and feel safe. But once she realizes that she is in a safe environment and that the people around her mean well, she begins to relax and show the gentle dog underneath that uncertainty.

Patates is affectionate and friendly with people, gets along well with other dogs, and has a relatively calm nature with a medium energy level. She listens well, can stay home alone, use stairs and travel by car. She does not need a home with a garden. Because she has a prey drive, her compatibility with cats is currently unknown. A home with children aged 12 and older would be suitable for her.

What Patates needs now is a loving home with people who will approach her with patience and kindness, understand that trust may take a little time, and give her the security she has missed for so long.

We are looking for a family who will give her space when she needs it, gently encourage her when she feels unsure, and help heal the wounds of her past with patience, stability and love.

Once Patates feels safe, we believe she can adapt beautifully and become a wonderful companion.

She has already lived through the difficult part of her story.

Now she deserves a home where she can finally feel safe, loved and truly belong. 🤍
