Güneş

Güneş has come a long way, and now she’s ready for the most important part of her journey: finding a family of her own.

She was rescued from a shelter in Turkey where living conditions were extremely difficult. After receiving veterinary care, she spent some time at a boarding facility in Ankara before travelling to Belgium, where she is now living with a foster family.

And Güneş has already surprised us with how quickly she has settled into her new life!

Although she can be a little shy at first, once she feels safe, she adapts remarkably well. She has already discovered her favourite spots around the house, and one of her favourite activities is sleeping on the sofa, cuddled up with her teddy bear. 🧸

Güneş currently shares her foster home with another dog, and they have been getting along well. During their gradual introduction, she occasionally spent time alone in a separate room with the door closed. She handled this perfectly well, remaining calm and relaxed.

Like many rescue dogs, Güneş needs a little patience when experiencing something unfamiliar. During her first days in Belgium, she was uncomfortable having her leash put on. However, as she became more confident and started trusting her new surroundings, she made wonderful progress and overcame her hesitation.

Güneş is friendly, affectionate and playful, but she prefers to take her time when meeting new people. She appreciates a gentle approach and the freedom to get to know someone at her own pace. Once she trusts you, her sweet and loving personality really shines through.

Her first days in Belgium have shown us that she can adapt beautifully to home life, live peacefully alongside another dog and enjoy spending time on her own.

What kind of home are we looking for?

We would love to find Güneş a patient, loving family who understands that trust takes time. A home where she can feel safe, enjoy her daily walks, relax on the sofa and receive all the affection she deserves.

She could live with another compatible dog and would be suitable for a family with children aged 12 or older. A garden would be lovely, but it isn’t essential.

Güneş has already discovered how wonderful life in a home can be. Now she just needs a family who will make it hers forever.

Could you be the person she gets to share her sofa with? 🤍
