Omschrijving
Meet Reemi (FIV+), a gentle little soul who deserves a second chance!
FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) is a virus that weakens a cat’s immune system, but FIV-positive cats can still live long, happy and healthy lives with proper care. It cannot be transmitted to humans or dogs, and it is mainly spread between cats through deep bite wounds. As an extra precaution, we recommend adopting FIV-positive cats into homes with other FIV-positive cats, although they can also safely coexist with FIV-negative cats when properly introduced and compatible.
Born in January 2023, Reemi spent most of her life surviving outdoors in Bahrain, living in the garden of a spa and gym. During the scorching summers, she would sit by the entrance, desperately trying to catch some cool air from inside. She was also regularly attacked by another cat.
Earlier this year, Reemi gave birth to five kittens, but tragically, none survived. Severely dehydrated and unwell, she was finally rescued and taken to the vet. After everything she’s endured, releasing her back on the harsh streets was not an option.
Despite her difficult past, Reemi is an incredibly sweet, affectionate and gentle girl. She’s shy initially, but once she trusts you, she adores head rubs, chin scratches, cuddles and sleeping beside her foster mum. She also loves playing with feathers and balls, watching birds through the window and enjoying her favourite wet food!
She’s comfortable as an only cat, or in a home with other gentle cats and would suit a calm home with one or two other friendly feline companions, although not necessary. She’s also good with children but has never been tested with dogs.
Reemi is vaccinated, spayed, dewormed, microchipped and tested negative for FeLV & Mycoplasma, but positive for FIV. Her adoption fee is €275, payable upon her arrival to your home.
She is available for indoor-only adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, a home video tour and a cat-proofing review of windows and balconies.
After years of simply surviving, Reemi deserves soft beds, sunny windows, gentle hands and the comfort of knowing she’ll never face the streets again
