Some cats like their independence. Tofu would respectfully like to know why you’re in another room without him.

Tofu is a curious, social little foodie whose favourite place is wherever his person happens to be. He follows you around the house, curls up nearby, climbs into your lap, gives headbutts and is always ready for some attention. He even enjoys being picked up.

During the day, he’s perfectly happy taking long naps by the window. Come evening, though, Tofu is ready for action. He loves wand toys, chasing and a good 10–15 minutes of play, and he is VERY happy to remind you when he would like attention or food.

He’s also great with other cats, has perfect litter habits and has never scratched or bitten in his foster home. He can be a little shy somewhere new, but give him some treats and a little time and you’ll quickly start seeing the real Tofu.

Life on the streets did leave Tofu with dental problems, and he eventually needed five teeth removed. Thankfully, it hasn’t slowed this foodie down one bit and he has no problems eating or chewing.

What Tofu really needs now is someone who actually wants a companion. He isn’t suited to a home where he’ll regularly be left alone for long periods. He loves people, loves company and wants to be part of your everyday life.

Basically, adopt Tofu and you’ll never have to wonder where your cat is again.

Tofu is health checked and ready to travel to his forever home. He’s neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed and tested negative for FIV/FeLV and Mycoplasma.

As part of our screening process, we require a home tour video so we can ensure the environment is safe and fully cat-proofed before adoption. Tofu is an indoor-only cat, unless access to a fully enclosed and cat-proofed space is made available to him.

His adoption fee is €275, which helps cover part of his rescue costs while supporting Rescat’s ongoing rescue and TNR work.
