Ela

Ela is a little nugget with a huge heart, and she is looking for her very own forever family in the Netherlands. 🇳🇱

Her story didn't start out easy. Ela was rescued from a terrible shelter where she struggled to survive among much bigger dogs. She was then moved to a very crowded sanctuary, where there were simply too many dogs and too little human attention. In that environment, she remained timid and frightened.

But once she left that sanctuary, we discovered the real Ela. 🥹❤️

Today, Ela is living in a foster home in Amsterdam, and she is showing everyone what a happy, social, affectionate little girl she truly is. Her foster family says she hardly seems like a rescue at all — she is confident, playful, full of life, and absolutely loves being around people.

And cuddles? Oh, yes. Ela wants to be part of everything, preferably right next to you, on your lap, or receiving all the love in the room. She can get a little jealous when someone else gets attention because, naturally, she thinks she should be the one getting all the cuddles! 😂❤️ She's a bit like a cat in a dog's body when it comes to seeking affection.

❤️ 10 kg of pure love — a small girl with a big personality.
🥰 Super social and affectionate — she loves people, physical contact, cuddles, and being close to her humans.
🛋️ A little cuddle bug — happiest when she's getting attention and sharing your space.
🐶 Great with other dogs — she enjoys their company and loves to play.
🎾 Playful, lively, and agile — she has plenty of energy and loves being involved in whatever is happening.
🦆 Curious on walks — birds and ducks definitely catch her attention!
🚗 A little adventurer — she enjoys going places with her people.
🍖 Very food motivated — she may even try to climb onto chairs to investigate what's on the table. 😄
🐕 Still learning her leash manners — she can pull, especially when excited to be out and about with her people.
🏡 An attentive little watchdog — she may give a quick bark when someone approaches the gate, but she is not a constant barker.

Ela is also good with cats, although she may feel intimidated if a cat hisses at her.

One thing to know: Ela can be protective of her food and bed around other dogs, so separate feeding and a little management around resting spots are important to help everyone feel comfortable.

❤️ What kind of home is Ela looking for?

Ela would love a family who enjoys having a little shadow around the house — a dog who wants to be included in daily life, share the sofa, play, go on walks, and receive plenty of affection.

She can live with other friendly dogs, provided her food and resting space are managed appropriately. Most importantly, she needs a family who will give her the attention and companionship she thrives on.

After everything she has been through, it is wonderful to see Ela blossom into the happy, loving little dog she always had the potential to be. Now she has a taste of home life in Amsterdam, and we want her next chapter to be permanent.
